2024 Buick Regal Models, Colors, Changes – The 2024 Buick Regal TourX shares a striking resemblance with the crossover Sportback on which it is based in terms of overall design and styling. Buick’s first new wagon in 22 years faces stiff competition from the Subaru Outback and the Audi A4 Allroad. On paper, it has a leg up on the competition because of its powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine, putting out 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Still, its lower ground clearance limits its usefulness. However, the Buick stands out in the city because it has a smooth ride, a lot of storage space, and is fun to drive.
2024 Buick Regal Redesign
Many of the 2024 Buick Regal TourX’s design cues are based on the Buick Sportback, which is no surprise. The TourX has a wider grille with vertical bars and a more extensive horizontal bar holding the Buick badge, making it look sportier than the usual station wagon. Daytime running lamps, front and rear fog lights, and automatic halogen headlights are all included. You get 18-inch alloy wheels on every trim level, and they’re standard on every car.
The proportions of the TourX wagon are a little bit larger than the normal Regal Sportback’s. It’s 196.3 inches long, yet it has the same wheelbase of 111.4 inches. The TourX, on the other hand, has a little higher height of 58.4 inches and a slightly higher ground clearance of 5.8 inches. Even while this is below average for the class, the Buick’s curb weight of 3,708 to 3,849 pounds puts it closer to the middle of the pack.
Interior
Even while the 2024 TourX has room for up to five people, the seats are a touch cramped and don’t offer the comfort you’d expect from a cross-country family hauler. Rear legroom might be improved, but all passengers have ample headroom. While the lower trim levels have fabric seats with manual adjustments, the higher ones include leather seats with eight ways of power adjustment and a two-way lumbar. Further up the specification levels, heated front seats are also available. The lack of conventional driver-assistance equipment only exacerbates the loss of sight caused by the wagon’s vast length and wide rear pillars. The cabin is well-built and mostly made of high-quality materials, making it easy to get in and out.
Engine
The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in every 2020 Buick Regal TourX produces 250 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox directs these outputs to all four wheels. But the powertrain isn’t something to write home about either. The wagon is fast to take off, but the turbo takes a while to understand why it is required.
The TourX accelerates effortlessly once the turbo comes on, making overtaking on the highway no problem at all. When more power is needed, the transmission will stick in a higher gear rather than change to a lower one. In spite of this, the Regal TourX has a decent mid-six-second pace from zero to 60 mph in independent tests, which is only a fraction of a second slower than its more competent competitors.
2024 Buick Regal Release Date and Price
US buyers may get their hands on a Regal TourX wagon at a relatively low price point. Despite its flaws, the base model costs just $29,370, making it an excellent value for the money. The Essence’s starting price is $35,070, while the Preferred costs $3,600 more. Even still, the base models come with just a limited number of desirable features, which must be purchased in additional packages in order to unlock them. The price of a car may rise above $40K with the addition of options and high-end paint. Buick’s $925 destination charge is not included in these rates.
