2024 Buick Encore GX: Upgrades and Innovations – The 2024 Buick Encore GX is a small SUV with a distinctive design, spacious cabin, and advanced safety and driver-assistance features. The Encore GX is also the first Buick model to feature the new Buick tri-shield badge, which marks the beginning of exciting changes for the brand.
The Encore GX is available in three trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and the first-ever Avenir. The Avenir is the highest expression of Buick luxury, with exclusive design details, premium materials, and enhanced technology. The Sport Touring adds performance-inspired touches, such as a flat-bottom steering wheel, red accents, and unique wheels.
The Encore GX also introduces an all-new infotainment system, with an 8-inch diagonal instrument display and a class-leading 11-inch diagonal infotainment touch-screen. The system offers wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and wireless smartphone charging. The Encore GX also comes with a year of Remote Access Plan, which allows you to control your vehicle from your smartphone via the Buick Mobile App.
Design: Exterior and Interior
The Encore GX has a confident and stylish exterior with sleek lines, LED lighting, and a bold grille. The Avenir trim adds exclusive features, such as a mesh grille with chrome wings, satin chrome accents, and 18-inch aluminum wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish. The Sport Touring trim enhances the sporty appeal of the Encore GX with a black mesh grille, body-color door handles and mirrors, and 18-inch aluminum wheels with a Dark Android finish.
The interior of the Encore GX is generous with space, details, and conveniences. The cabin can accommodate up to five passengers, with ample headroom and legroom. The rear seats can fold in a 60/40 split, and the front passenger seat can fold flat to create more cargo space. The Encore GX also offers a hands-free power liftgate, which can be activated by kicking your foot under the rear bumper.
The Avenir trim elevates the interior quality of the Encore GX with leather-appointed seats, embroidered logos on the front head restraints, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. The Sport Touring trim adds flair to the interior, with red contrast stitching on the seats and steering wheel.
Powertrain
The Encore GX offers two engine options: a 1.2L Turbo engine that delivers 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), or a 1.3L Turbo engine that produces 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a CVT or 9-speed automatic transmission. Both engines feature stop/start technology, which helps improve fuel efficiency by shutting off the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop.
The Encore GX also offers an available all-wheel drive system with a drive mode selector. The system can automatically adjust the torque distribution between the front and rear wheels, depending on the road conditions and driver preferences. The drive mode selector allows you to choose between four modes: Normal (for everyday driving), Snow (for slippery surfaces), Sport (for more responsive handling), and Off-Road (for rough terrain).
Release Date and Price
The 2024 Buick Encore GX is expected to arrive in dealerships in May 2023. The starting prices for each trim level are as follows:
