What’s New for 2024
The 2024 Encore GX is not just a refreshed model but a striking first step as the new face of Buick. It features the North American debut of the new Buick tri-shield badge, which marks the beginning of exciting changes for Buick. The new badge has a more modern and sleek look, with a three-dimensional effect and a chrome outline.
The Encore GX also introduces the first-ever Encore GX Avenir, the highest expression of Buick luxury. The Avenir trim offers exclusive design details, including a unique grille, 18-inch aluminum wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish, LED headlamps and taillamps, Avenir badging, and embroidered logos on the front head restraints. The Avenir also has premium features like leather-appointed seating, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and more.
Another new feature for 2024 is the all-new infotainment system with an HD color infotainment touch-screen. This system has an 8-inch diagonal instrument display and a class-leading 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen that are customizable and easy to access. The system also offers wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, as well as a year of Remote Access Plan that lets you control your vehicle from your smartphone via the My Buick Mobile App.
Design: Exterior and Interior
The Encore GX has a distinctive exterior design that brims with style and substance. It has confident lines, sculpted curves, LED signature lighting, and a wide stance giving it a sporty and sophisticated look. The Encore GX offers several options to personalize your styles, such as roof rails, body-color door handles, chrome accents, rear spoiler, and different wheel designs.
The interior of the Encore GX is equally impressive, with a spacious and versatile cabin that can accommodate up to five passengers and their cargo. The Encore GX has up to 50.2 cubic feet of cargo space, with the rear seats folded down and an available flat-folding front-passenger middle that allows you to carry longer items. The Encore GX also has intelligent storage solutions, such as a center console bin with a sliding armrest, door pockets with bottle holders, rear seatback pockets, and an available cargo area organizer.
The Encore GX also offers a wealth of talents regarding comfort and convenience. You can enjoy features like QuietTuning™ technology that reduces noise and vibration, keyless open and start, remote start, heated front seats and steering wheel, power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and more.
Powertrain
The Encore GX offers two engine options to suit your driving preferences: a 1.2L Turbo engine or a 1.3L Turbo engine. Both engines are paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that provides smooth and efficient performance. The 1.2L Turbo engine delivers 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, while the 1.3L Turbo engine delivers 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.
The Encore GX also offers an available all-wheel drive system with a drive mode selector that lets you choose between FWD (Front-Wheel Drive), AWD (All-Wheel Drive), or Off-Road modes depending on the road conditions. The all-wheel-drive system enhances traction and stability by automatically adjusting torque distribution between the front and rear wheels.
The Encore GX also has impressive fuel economy ratings that help you save money at the pump. The FWD models with the 1.2L Turbo engine have an EPA-estimated 28 MPG city/31 MPG highway/29 MPG combined*, while the FWD models with the 1.3L Turbo engine have an EPA-estimated 30 MPG city/32 MPG highway/31 MPG combined*. The AWD models with the 1.3L Turbo engine have an EPA-estimated 26 MPG city/29 MPG highway/28 MPG combined*.
Release Date and Price
The 2024 Buick Encore GX is expected to arrive in dealerships in May 2023. The official pricing has not been announced yet, but we expect it to be similar to the 2023 model, which starts at $25,900 for the Preferred trim, $27,495 for the Sport Touring trim, and $31,600 for the Avenir trim.
